Family Time

Richard, Karis, Roman & Ryder

This last week has been so very busy! I have my son, daughter-in-law and my grandson's over nearly every Saturday.  We get to spend some wonderful family time together, eat a meal, visit and I just love it!  This last Saturday, not only did they come over, but I had the older one, Roman, who is 3-1/2 stay overnight for a sleep-over!
Roman - on our way to the park
Ryder, Only 5 months old!

And then since this last Sunday was Father's Day, Ron and I decided to spend the day going for a nice drive, eating lunch and just enjoying this beautiful weather.
Ron & I in Coupeville

With all of that, you can imagine that I had NO time to craft!  But, it is all part of this journey that I am on.  Trying to find time to do the things I love; spending time with my family, crafting, gardening, a full time job as well as trying to make a business with Stampin' Up.  Well, this last week I can honestly say my family and job over-ruled and no crafting happened until today.

I had colored these beautiful pieces of vellum from the Graceful Glass DSP a couple of weeks ago, but just never finished them.  So this evening I finally made them into book marks.

I tried a couple different ways; with the white behind the vellum & without.  As well as different types of adhesive and ribbon.  By doing things like this in different ways, you really learn what you like best and the knowledge will come in handy later.

I hope that you like the pictures of my beautiful family and some of the fun book marks I made.  Please feel free to ask any questions.  This is a great journey!  I know not every week will go as planned, but I will keep my head up and continue to move forward!

Happy Krafting!

Delightfully Detailed Suite

The delightfully Detailed Suites is one of my favorites in the new catalog!  I took some time last night and made a few cards that I thought I would share with you quickly.

Both the cards above I took pieces from the Delighfully Detailed Laser-Cut DSP and layered it on top of one of the Delighfully Detailed Note Cards in Blackberry Bliss.  I then used cordinating cardstock to make a banner and a spot for the sentiment.  I LOVE the Detailed Trio Punch and all the wonderful stamps in the Detailed With Love Stamp Set.

The two cards above were done pretty much the same as the previous two, I just used the Mint Macaron colored Note Cards.  It is amazing to me all the different looks you can come up with from just one sheet of DSP and some note cards!

The above card I decided to make the regular A2 size.  So I cut a piece of Grapefruit Grove Cardstock to layer under the Laser-Cut DSP for a little different look.  For the sentiment I took one of the cards from the Delightfully Detailed Memories & More Card Pack, cut it down, layered with Grapefruit Grove and Black and of course I added a few of the Faceted Dots.

The last one I made I used two of the cards from the Memories & More Card Pack and adhered them to the front of one of the Blackberry Bliss Note Cards.  I then used some of the 1/4" Calypso Coral Ombre Ribbon.  This ribbon is not in the Suite, but I like it alot and think it goes very nicely with this card.

I hope that you like the cards I made.  I will be making more items from this suite over the next few days and will post more items to show you once they are done.

Card Swaps

One of the fun things that we do as demonstrators, is a Card Swap.  I thought I would take a couple of minutes and tell you a little about the latest swap I joined and how they work.

First of all, they can be run many different ways.   Normally there is a theme.  This swap, the theme was the New Stampin' Up Catalog!  You could use any supplies you want as long as they are in the new catalog.  It must be a full card (no card fronts), and needed to have layering and accessories.

Once you have designed the card, you make multiples of this same card.  Each swap is different as far as the number you need to make, but most people keep it to a minimum like 15 or so.  This particular swap, I needed to make 11 cards.

I created my cards, put them in plastic bags for display and mailed them off to the person who put this together.  In a few days, I will get a package back with 10 different cards (the person who hosted gets the 11th card).  This is a great way to get ideas for cards to make for your classes, or just to use to show people the possibilities with our products.

Here are a couple pictures of what the card looked like out of the envelope.

I hope that you like the card I made, and if you ever get the chance to participate in a swap, do it!  It is a lot of fun!
